Swapan Bhattacharya
was born in a Brahmin family in Mahesh (West Bengal/India - Hooghly).
For the last 20 years he has been working all around the world with
many international musicians.
He performed with many renowned artists from India and Pakistan in Europe, in India and in North Africa. Besides his successful workshops in schools and universities, he has performed in All India TV, Kolkata Tarabangla, German TVs (RTL, NDR, Tide) and in many other TVs.
Since 2006 he has started to play concerts regularly in the cities
known as musical capitals like Kolkata and Delhi in India. In the
year 2008 and 2009 he was often in Kolkata and playing many prestigious
concerts with top grade musicians from India.
Since 1996 Swapan is working in his own to propagate Indian Classical
Instrumental, Vocal and Dance music introducing many musicians from
the young generation to provide them a possibility to present there
music and to establish themsleves in Europe. His Tabla reminded old
timers of the soft touch and musically rich style of his late Guru
Pandit Shaymal Bose (The Statesman Kolkata 6th april 2010).
Swapan
Bhattacharya is leading a school of indian classical music in Hamburg
/ Kolkata (Kalkutta) and has a large number of students who are playing
in europe. |
